LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -

Kentucky State Police say an officer's car was hit by a truck on I-65 Wednesday morning when the truck's driver fell asleep at the wheel.

The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer was sitting in his car, providing traffic safety to a construction crew working on I-65 north of Elizabethtown when the truck crossed into the work zone and hit his car, according to a release.

Officer Joseph Overton was not injured in the accident and neither was the truck's driver, 46-year-old Tonia Young, KSP says.

Police say Young was stopped by members of the construction crew.
