Louisville woman accused of punching 2-year-old child in face
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville woman is facing serious charges after police say she punched a 2-year-old child in the face.
According to an arrest warrant, it happened on Aug. 2. That's when police say 24-year-old Janay Jinks approached a vehicle with the child inside. Police say "she reached through the open window and punched the child in the right side of the face, causing pain and a scratch."
As the child's mother tried to drive away, police say Jinks threw a milkshake into the car, striking the mother and the child.
Police say the woman told them she also received several threatening text messages from Jinks, including one that read: "Your husband's dead now ... and u bout to be dead...."
Jinks was arrested and charged with assault (child abuse) and terroristic threatening. She's being held at Louisville Metro Corrections on a $2,500 cash bond.
