LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -

Louisville Slugger began making World Series game bats Friday.

The National League Champion New York Mets bats were the first to get underway. However, bats for the American League Champions -- either the Kansas City Royals or Toronto Blue Jays -- will be shipped out on Monday.

Each bat is made to a player's exact specifications.

"One of the things that we take great pride in is Louisville Slugger has been a part of every World Series ever played all the way back to 1903," Hillerich & Bradsby spokesperson Rick Redman said. "It's a trivia question really. What city has been represented in every single World Series? And it's Louisville, Kentucky because of Louisville Slugger."

Officials say it takes hundreds of man hours to make the World Series bats.
