KSP: Search widens for man wanted in attempted murder of a police officer

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police say the search for a fugitive is now statewide. 

The FBI and U.S. Marshal's Fugitive Task Force are now searching the entire state for Floyd Ray Cook, who is wanted for attempted murder of a police officer. 

KSP says Cook may be driving a 2006 Ford Ranger with Kentucky plate 8658-GB and may be with 50-year-old Troy Wayne.

According to police, Cook is a convicted felon for first degree rape and should be considered armed and dangerous. 

The public is cautioned not to approach Cook or anyone that may be an associate but to contact law enforcement by dialing 911 or by contacting the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555, via Twitter @kystatepolice, via Facebook page Kentucky State Police or through the Kentucky State Police smartphone/tablet application.
