LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- An attorney for a Bullitt County Deputy Corrections Officer arrested in September for domestic violence was in court Wednesday on her behalf.

Elizabeth Collins did not attend the hearing, but her attorney was there to accept a plea deal.

The judge amended her assault charge to harassment with physical contact.

Police say last month, on National Turnpike, Collins slapped her boyfriend in the face after a fight over car keys, and it was caught on his home video surveillance.

The Bullitt County jailer says Collins says it was in self-defense. The jailer says it wasn't a work violation, so it has had no effect on her job.

Collins has been a full-time deputy corrections officer for the past seven months.

She'll be sentenced in April of next year.
