Firefighter has minor injuries after west Louisville house fire

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A firefighter was hurt in an early morning fire near the Shawnee Expressway.

It happened around 1 a.m. at a house on Louis Coleman Jr. Drive, near west Broadway.

The fire also damaged a home next door.

Thirty-eight firefighters fought flames for nearly an hour before they got the fire under control.

Officials say a firefighter fell through a floor and was taken to the hospital with a minor back injury.

All of the people who lived in the home got out safely.

Crews believe an electrical heater may have started the fire, but the cause is still under investigation.
