Louisville man accused of videotaping nanny as she showered in his bathroom
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after police say he secretly videotaped a woman he had hired to watch his children.
According to an arrest warrant, it happened on several occasions between Nov. 21, 2014 and April 4, 2015. Police say Joel Hitzelberger hired the victim to work as a nanny in his home.
Police say Hitzelberger placed a camera in the spare bathroom the victim was using and "videotaped victim with the purpose of capturing images of victim's genitalia without victim's consent or knowledge."
Police say the victim was recorded showering and using the restroom. Hitzelberger allegedly transferred the images to his laptop with an SD card.
According to the arrest warrant Hitzelberger's recording device was found in his cabin in Tennessee and police were called. After a search warrant was issued, videos of the victim that were recorded in Hitzelberger's Louisville address were found.
Hitzelberger was arrested early Thursday. He has been charged with one count of voyeurism.
