LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Kentucky State Police say they've arrested a Hardin County man on child pornography charges.

According to a news release, 25-year-old Michael W. King was arrested just before 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 29. Troopers from both the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch and KSP Post 4-Elizabethtown were involved in the investigation.

Police say the KSP Electronic Crime Branch launched an undercover investigation after discovering evidence that King was sharing images of child sexual exploitation on the Internet.

"The images depicted prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts," the news release states.

On Thursday, police say they executed a search warrant at King's home, seizing "equipment used to facilitate the crime." That evidence was taken to a forensic laboratory for investigation.

King is currently charged with 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and three counts of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor. He is currently incarcerated in the Hardin County Detention Center.
