Louisville Islamic Center leaders hold luncheon to thank good samaritans who cleaned up vandalism

LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) -- Leaders at the Louisville Islamic Center held a luncheon to say thank you Monday.

The event was a way to say "thank you" to the people who helped clean up the Center after it was vandalized.  Someone spray-painted threatening and hateful graffiti on the building in September.

Around 1,000 people from different religious backgrounds helped paint over the graffiti.

"It tells us that we have a hope for our world," said Dr. Muhammad Babar. "That still the human bond is the stronger bond. This bond still overcomes hatred or misunderstandings."

The event also served as an early Thanksgiving for the community, to get to know their neighbors.
