LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) –  Louisville native D’Angelo Russell is only three games into his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers but he is already stirring national headlines.

And it’s not because Russell has averaged 9 points during the Lakers’ rough 0-3 start.

Nope. Russell has made his way into the gossip columns because of his reported activity off the court. Multiple websites, including BlackSportsOnLine.com, have reported that Russell is dating Kendall Jenner.

Jenner, 19, is the younger half-sister of Kim and Khloe Kardashian, stars of reality TV series, “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” Kris Jenner is the mother of all three women.

If you want every second of your social life recorded, dating a member of the Kardashian outfit is the way to go. Any connection between a top NBA rookie of the year candidate and a Kardashian will push the L.A. paparazzi into overdrive.

Russell played his freshman season at Central High School before transferring to a private school in Florida. He played one season of college basketball at Ohio State, turning down a scholarship offer from Louisville. Russell played AAU basketball with U of L guard Quentin Snider on the Louisville Magic.

The website reported that Jenner was seen leaving the Staples Center with Russell after a Lakers’ game. Other websites have posted similar stories. The story is the dating flavor of the day in Hollywood.

Back to basketball. The Lakers selected Russell with the second pick in the 2015 NBA Draft. He’s started all three games.

His shot selection needs work. Russell has made only 36.7 percent of his field goal attempts and he is averaging 1.7 assists. Russell scored 13 points, his career high, against Dallas Sunday night.

Russell will earn $5.1 million this season. That’s almost Kardashian money.
