Pair arrested after nearly $3K worth of tools stolen from pickup truck
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have arrested a man and woman in connection with the theft of $2,800 worth of tools from a pickup truck.
According to the arrest report, it happened around 3 a.m. Monday. That's when police say someone stole the tools after breaking into a pickup truck parked in the 1300 block of Forest Drive near Fern Valley Road. Police say 31-year-old David Williams was later found at the Sharp Mart pawn shop on Preston Highway trying to sell the items for cash.
Despite being warned that giving false information to a police officer is a crime, police say Williams "gave his brother's information in an attempt to evade capture on his warrants."
Police say Williams admitted to knowing that the items were stolen, and that he bought the tools "from a friend whose name he doesn't know."
Also arrested was 34-year-old Amy Grace. Police say she used her Kentucky driver's license as identification to pawn the items. Police say she admitted to knowing the items were stolen.
Williams and Grace are charged with receiving stolen property under $10,000. Williams is also charged with giving a police officer a false name or address.
