POLICE: Louisville man stabbed victim in stomach

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man officials say stabbed a victim in the stomach.

Cha Law Po, 19, was arrested Monday afternoon at his home in the 100 block of East Kenwood Court, near South 1st Street.

Authorities say Po allegedly confronted a group of juveniles at a park located at 1st Street and Kenwood Avenue, according to official police records.

Police say Po was confronting a juvenile who was dating his girlfriend.

Officials say the victim, who is an adult, "stepped in and asked what was going on." Investigators say Po then stabbed the victim once in the abdomen.

The official police report states Po and the victim do not know each other.

According to police, Po ran from the scene and was followed by the juveniles to his home until police arrived at the scene.

The victim was taken to University Hospital. There is no word on the victim's current condition.

Po is charged with assault. He is being held on a $25,000 cash bond.

He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday.
