Charges against former school resource officer accused of assaulting student may be dropped

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A former LMPD school resource officer is accused of assaulting a teenager -- but charges will be dropped if he completes anger management classes.

In January, Jonathan Hardin was accused of pushing and punching a 13-year-old at Olmsted Academy North Middle School. The teen was treated at the hospital for his injuries.

Hardin apologized to the student in court Thursday morning. His next court date is in December, and if he completes those classes, the case will be dismissed.

Hardin still faces charges for an incident showing him putting a different teen in a chokehold in a school hallway.
