Simulator demonstrates that texting while driving can be fatal
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A quick glance at your phone can be a killer.
That's the message AT&T is taking to schools.
The "It Can Wait" campaign urges drivers not to use cell phones while driving. A new Braun Research study shows distracted driving is now the number one killer of teen drivers -- and they're not just talking. They're texting, posting to social media, snapping selfies and checking e-mail.
Students at Fairdale High School stepped into a simulator to see how quickly disaster can strike.
"We hear from students constantly when they come out of the simulator," said Hood Harris of AT&T Kentucky. "They really became aware of the danger, and it changed their behavior on the road. That makes us all safer."
