The 2015 Breeders' Cup at Keeneland by the numbers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB/CNN Money) -- This year's Breeders' Cup set a record for the two richest days in sports.

The betting pool this year was a record-breaking $150 million. That's $50 million more than the Super Bowl's purse.

Officials say 450 private jets descended on Lexington. Some private jets cost up to $14,000 per flight hour.

"Usually the Super Bowl is the top of that for private jets followed by the Masters. This year, because of American Pharoah, it got inverted and flipped on its head," Andrew Collins, with Sentient Jet, said.

About 95,000 racing fans spent an average of $860 for a two-day ticket.

Last year, about $8.5 million worth of tickets were sold.

That number more than doubled this year, to $19 million.
