American Pharoah's stud fee set at $200,000

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- $200,000: that's the stud fee for Triple Crown winner American Pharoah.

Coolmore Stud announced the thoroughbred's stud fees on Twitter this morning.

A stud fee is the fee charged for the right to breed to a horse.

American Pharoah won the Breeder's Cup Classic at Keeneland last Saturday, and then retired to Coolmore Ashford Stud Farm.

Coolmore is also offering tours of the farm starting at the end of this month. Officials say they hope to let fans see American Pharaoh and other champions, but no guarantees are made.
