LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dozens of volunteers came out to the National Military Section of Louisville's Cave Hill Cemetery on Saturday four days before Veterans Day.

They helped the Flags4Vets Organization put out 6,700 American flags.

It's the ninth year for the event that also included the Presentation of Colors, the Pledge of Allegiance and taps.

"This is just a beautiful ceremony here commemorating our veterans," Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said. "Putting flags down with Flags4Vets, with people from all over the community ... so it's just another way to say thank you, and we remember the importance of service in the military to our country."

Mayor Fischer says Louisville's Veterans Day parade will start at 11 a.m. Wednesday.
