Police say would-be robber shot while invading Louisville home
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a would-be robber got more than he bargained for when he and three others broke into a home.
According to an arrest report, it happened on Sunday, Nov. 8, at 12:45 p.m. Police say 20-year-old Jamal Jackson and three unidentified accomplices, armed with firearms, kicked in the front door of a home on Oakwood Avenue, just south of the intersection of Bluegrass Avenue and Hazelwood Avenue.
Police say they then fired two shots.
But the victim was armed as well, according to the arrest report, and also began firing.
Police say Jackson was hit in the right shoulder. According to the arrest report, he ended up driving himself to University Hospital.
Once in police custody, Jackson allegedly told officers, "I didn't kick the door."
The incident was captured on the victim's surveillance camera, according to police.
Jackson is charged with first degree robbery and first degree burglary. The identities of the other suspects are not known.
