LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The man charged with murdering Richmond, Kentucky, police officer Daniel Ellis appeared in court Monday.

Police say 34-year-old Raleigh Sizemore admitted to shooting Ellis last week. A judge has set Sizemore's bond at $2.5 million.

Sizemore is also charged with attempted murder, unlawful imprisonment and possession of a handgun by a felon.

Officials say Ellis was investigating a robbery and the investigation led him to a home. Sizemore allegedly hid at the back of the house and then shot Ellis, according to authorities. Officer Ellis died on Friday.

The homeowner, 25-year-old Gregory Ratliff, was also arraigned Monday on complicity to commit murder charges.

Two others, Rita Creech and Carl Banks, also appeared in court Monday, charged for their alleged role in the robbery Ellis was investigating.

All four people entered not guilty pleas.

Funeral services for Ellis will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the EKU Alumni Coliseum. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the EKU Alumni Coliseum.
