LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) – The nearly 9,000 United Auto Workers union members at Ford’s two Louisville plants will vote on Tuesday, Nov. 17, whether to ratify a new, four-year labor contract, UAW Local 862 President Todd Dunn said.

The contract includes a number of pay increases, including an $8,500 signing bonus for each UAW members. And Ford promises to pour another $1.3 billion into Louisville Assembly Plant and Kentucky Truck Plant if the contract is ratified.

Details of the contract, which was negotiated nationally in Detroit, were released Monday.

Before voting, Louisville workers will be able to attend an informational meeting at the Kentucky Exposition Center on Sunday in which leaders from the UAW International, UAW Region 8 and Local 862 will explain the contract and answer questions.

The informational meeting is from noon to 3:30 pm and from 4 pm to 9 pm at South Wing B, according to a flier distributed to workers.

The ratification vote will be from 4 am to 10 pm on Tuesday at the union halls for LAP and KTP workers, 3000 Fern Valley Road and 2702 Chamberlain Lane, respectively.
