Louisville prepared for winter, but NWS says this year will be milder

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The city of Louisville is preparing for winter weather.

Louisville's snow team says it's ready for whatever Mother Nature throws at them.

Today, the 265 member snow team, along with Mayor Fischer, the Public Works Department, the Ky. Department of Transportation, the National Weather Service and JCPS officials, discussed the city's upcoming snow plan.

The city has 40,000 tons of salt on hand for this year's winter -- which is 67 percent more than Louisville used last year, when the city was fighting snow well into March.

However, there was good news from the National Weather Service officials, who say this winter may turn out to be much more mild.
