LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police say a robbery suspect stopped his car in the middle of the road and tried to outrun police on foot Friday morning.

It started after a report of a robbery at a Cash Express on Dixie Highway. From there, police said Armstead Baylor took off, with police following close behind him.

Baylor was eventually arrested after police caught up with him. He made it into Radcliff, where witnesses say they heard the screech of his tires as the pursuit came to an end.

"No reason at all," said witness Robbie Catlett. "What was weird, he just stopped for no reason and took off running. I guess he thought it was a good spot to run."

Baylor ran to a nearby Super 8 motel, and police surrounded the building as they searched for him. The suspect was eventually taken into custody and put into the back of the police car.

Baylor is charged with Robbery and several traffic violations.
