Green Bean Delivery donates 1,600 pounds of produce to Dare to Care

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Sixteen-hundred pounds of produce is going to people in need in Louisville.

This morning, Green Bean Delivery workers dropped off the donation to the Dare to Care food bank. It's the region's largest online natural and organic grocery delivery service.

Among the veggies donated were potatoes, carrots, local turnips and onions.

"There's 194,000 food insecure people in our community right now," said Remy Kenney. "And a lot of them suffer from food-related illnesses like diabetes and obesity, so this fresh produce is so important to their health."

Dare to Care puts 7 million pounds of fresh produce into the community every year.
