LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- LMPD officers have decided to keep their current union leader.

LMPD's Fraternal Order of Police President Dave Mutchler has been elected to a fourth term, taking more than two-thirds of the 940 votes cast.

In June, Mutchler was criticized for an open letter he wrote, calling people who had been criticizing police "liars" and "sensationalists."

The letter, which came after an officer shot and killed a man in Old Louisville, drew protests that blocked traffic downtown.

Mutchler has been the FOP president for six years.
