POLICE: Louisville woman arrested after hitting two pedestrians with her car
She was allegedly trying to get away from a robbery scene.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say they've arrested a woman after she hit two pedestrians with a car while she was trying to get away from a robbery scene.
According to Louisville Metro Police spokesman Dwight Mitchell, it happened on Nov. 16 at 11 p.m. in the 800 block of Dresden Avenue, near Bellevue Avenue.
Police say 21-year-old Jasmine Maye drove two accomplices to a robbery at one of the homes in the area.
As officers arrived on the scene, they allegedly saw a silver 2012 Chevy driving away from the back of the home.
A robbery victim told police that at least one shot had been fired by the suspects.
Police say they tried to stop the vehicle -- which was driven by Maye -- but she kept driving, traveling southbound on Manslick Road, where she hit two pedestrians, "causing severe injuries," according to the arrest report.
Police eventually stopped her -- and Maye allegedly admitted to driving the vehicle.
Police say she had a suspended license.
Maye was arrested and charged with -- among other things -- first degree Robbery, two counts of first degree Assault, Fleeing and Evading Police and Operating a Motor Vehicle on a Suspended License.
