Louisville Metro Police arrest man on attempted murder charge

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man authorities have charged with attempted murder.

Jamie Tyler, 28, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the area of 40th Street and West Broadway, according to official police records.

Police say Tyler fired eight shots at a male victim, hitting him in the leg and lower torso. Police also say Tyler fled the scene after the shooting.

Official police records state that the victim identified Tyler as the person who shot him. 

Authorities say the shooting happened on October 16.

The victim was taken to University Hospital, where he underwent surgery for his injuries.

Investigators say the incident was the second time Tyler shot the victim.

Tyler is also charged with possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

He is being held at Louisville Metro Corrections and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
