LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There's a new statue on Louisville's Museum Row.

The sculpture is called the "Sons of Liberty 1775."

It's on a pedestal of Kentucky-quarried limestone that weighs 19,000 pounds.

It was placed outside the Sons of the American Revolution national headquarters on West Main Street.

The eight-foot-tall statue depicts the iconic Minuteman.

"It represents the struggle of our Patriots to achieve our independence for our founding colonies, and also the continuing efforts that we all place on our citizenship," Colleen Wilson, Director of Education for the Sons of the American Revolution.

There will be an official unveiling ceremony for the statue Friday morning at 10:30 in front of the national headquarters.
