POLICE: Louisville suspect tried to escape through University Hospital ceiling
Police say he managed to get out of his cuffs -- and climb into the ceiling.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a man who was under arrest tried to escape by climbing into the ceiling.
It happened at University Hospital on S. Jackson Street, near E. Chestnut Street, just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Police say 27-year-old Cody Dimuccio had already been taken into custody on a warrant. (Court records show he is charged with -- among other things -- Receipt of Stolen Property and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance.)
While being treated for injuries at University Hospital, he was taken to a private bathroom. Inside, police say, he slipped out of his cuffs and tried to escape by climbing into the ceiling.
Officers eventually found him on top of the drop ceiling over the Emergency Room, according to an arrest report.
He was again taken into custody, and charged with second degree Escape in connection with this incident.
