LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Shively Police say they've arrested a man weeks after he tried to run another man's car into oncoming traffic.

According to an arrest warrant, it happened on Sept. 27.

Police say 21-year-old Kyle Wathen got into an argument with the victim. While the victim was driving to the Walmart near the intersection of Lower Hunters Trace and the Greenbelt Highway, Wathen allegedly pulled up next to the victim, got out of his car and approached him, cursing at him and daring him to fight. The victim's friend and girlfriend were also in the car at the time, according to police.

In response, the victim locked his car and drove off, the arrest warrant states.

But Wathen was unwilling to let it go, allegedly following the man's car on Care Run Road "at a high rate of speed." Police say he then pulled up next to the victim's car and began swerving at it, "trying to force the victim's car into oncoming traffic."

According to the arrest report, the victim drove onto a concrete island, nearly hitting oncoming traffic.

Ultimately, police say the victim had to drive his car into a nearby neighborhood, where he shut off his lights and hid from Wathen.

Later, the man was able to identify Wathen -- who was known to him -- from a photo, police say.

No one was injured, and no vehicles were damaged.

A warrant was issued for Wathen's arrest on Friday, Oct. 9. He was arrested on Dixie Highway, near San Jose Avenue, on Wednesday, just after 9 p.m., according to an arrest report.

He is charged with three counts of Wanton Endangerment.
