BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WDRB) – Kentucky State Police arrested a man for kidnapping, rape and murder in the disappearance of a 7-year-old, according to a spokesperson.

Timothy Madden, 38, was arrested Friday after 11:23 a.m. when a warrant was issued, though KSP spokesperson B.J. Eaton declined to elaborate on the circumstances of the arrest.

Eaton said Gabbi Doolin went missing from a football game in Allen County Saturday night, Nov. 14. Her body was found about 30 minutes later in a creek nearby.

According to the arrest citation, Madden consented to a cheek swab for DNA comparison. Police wrote his DNA matched evidence taken from Gabbi Doolin's body. The police report says evidence indicates Gabbi Doolin was raped and then was strangled and drowned.

“Since then a vigorous investigation has taken place both day and night,” Eaton said Friday afternoon.

According to Eaton, Doolin was raped and murdered before she was left in the creek.

“We ask that your thoughts and your prayers continue for the Doolin family,” Eaton said during the press conference.

KSP was called in to help with the investigation and investigators worked with the crime lab in Frankfort to sift through evidence.

“Ever since we got the call…[the investigators] have worked tirelessly to bring this investigation to the point where we are today,” KSP Post Commander Cpt. John Clark said.

Police said they were unable to release further details at the time.

KSP said Madden would be processed at the Allen County Jail before being transferred to and held in the Barren County Jail. His bond has been set at $1 million.

Madden has been charged with the following:

  • Kidnapping (Victim Death)
  • Rape 1st Degree (Victim Less Than 12 Years Of Age)
  • Sodomy 1st Degree (Victim Less Than 12 Years Of Age)
  • Murder
