LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Dozens rallied Friday in support of a local judge who prosecutors are trying to remove from all criminal cases.

Judge Olu Stevens faces controversy after dismissing a jury last year because it didn't include any African Americans.

The Commonwealth's Attorney's office has asked the supreme court to decide whether he had the power to do so. This week, Kentucky's chief justice pulled Stevens off a case.

Judge Stevens took to social media to complain about Commonwealth's Attorney Tom Wine.

Friday evening, supporters rallied to support Judge Stevens' call for diversified juries.

"We're here just to support him support his family. Let him know he's not standing alone. He has an entire community of pastors, leaders in the community, and just everyone's here to support him and let him know that we're standing behind him," supporter Mechelle Porter said.

Judge Stevens' wife also attended the rally.

She thanked everyone who's standing behind her husband's decision.
