SCOTT COUNTY, In. (WDRB) -- Indiana State Police say a Scott County man was arrested on accusations that he battered and neglected his six-month- old child.

Bryan Lee Anthony, 28, of Scottsburg, was arrested late Friday evening, according to a news release from Indiana State Police.

Officials say Anthony was arrested following a police investigation, which was launched based on information received by the Scott County Division of Family and Children.

Police say Anthony allegedly became upset at the child, and "grabbed the child from a bed and quickly pulled the child upwards and backwards several times."

Investigators say the child was taken to a pediatrician on Nov. 19 for a monthly check-up. During the visit, the doctor took notice of a head injury, according to officials. The child was then admitted at Kosair Children's Hospital, according to police.

There is no word on the child's current condition.

Police arrested Anthony and have charged him with battery and neglect of a dependent.

He is being held at the Scott County Jail.

The investigation is ongoing.
