LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man and woman after police say the pair did drugs inside a vehicle while two children were present.

Douglas Parks, 51, and Sarah Embry, 27, were arrested Monday afternoon at the Target store located at 9070 Dixie Highway, according to the official police report.

Embry's two children were in the back seat at the time and were not in car seats, according to police.

Authorities say officers were watching video of the Target store parking lot and saw Parks and Embry "engaging in narcotics" inside a vehicle.

Police say heroin could be seen on the passenger side floor board. Officials say Parks admitted he dumped heroin onto the floor when officers came up to the vehicle.

A loaded needle was found in the passenger side door of the car. A spoon was also located under the driver's seat, according to officials.

Authorities say Embry admitted to placing the needle in the door as officers approached the car.

Police say two Percocets were found in Embry's left front pocket and were not in a proper container.

Embry and Parks are both charged with wanton endangerment, possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence. Parks faces an additional charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both Parks and Embry are being held at Louisville Metro Corrections.

Embry was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. Parks is scheduled to be in court Dec. 4.
