POLICE: Three people arrested after robbery at Jefferson Mall

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three people were arrested after a robbery -- and a police chase -- at Jefferson Mall.

According to LMPD police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley, it happened around 1 p.m. in the Jefferson Mall parking lot. That's where police say a woman had her purse and cell phone stolen. After snatching the victim's property, Smiley says the suspect took off in a car that was later spotted by a Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy near Fern Valley Road and Fegenbush Lane.

The deputy tried to stop the vehicle, but it continued traveling east on Fern Valley. That's when other deputies joined in along with an LMPD officer.

Officers were finally able to stop the vehicle in the parking lot of Moody's Liquors at Bradford near Old Bardstown Road. Police arrested three suspects -- two men and one woman.

Police did recover the victim's purse and cell phone.

The suspects' identities were not immediately released, but they were detained for questioning before being booked into Metro Corrections.
