UPDATE: Authorities identify man killed in multi-vehicle crash in Bullitt County

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Authorities have identified a man who died in a multi-vehicle crash in Bullitt County early Friday morning.

It happened in the southbound lanes of I-65 in Bullitt County, near Exit 116 at 4:40 a.m. According to Officer Ken Bernardi with the Shepherdsville Police Department, several vehicles were involved. The driver of one of the vehicles was killed after being thrown from from their vehicle. That victim fell about 45 feet and landed near the Salt River.

That man has since been identified as 32-year-old Nathaniel Brown, III of Louisville. According to Clayton Brunson, a deputy coroner in Bullitt County, Brown was en route to work at the Rue La La distribution center in Shepherdsville when he was involved in the crash.

Bernardi says one other person was taken to University Hospital with unknown injuries. The driver of the third vehicle was taken to Jewish Hospital with minor injuries. 

It's not known if speed or alcohol were factors in the crash. 

"We're still trying to find out exactly what happened," Bernardi said. "We're trying to determine as best we can the sequence of events and what happened where."

All three lanes of I-65S were closed until around 9 a.m. while crews worked to clear the scene.  

Police are asking anyone who may have seen the crash to call the Bullitt County 911 Center at 502-543-7074 or the Shepherdsville Police Tip Line at 502-215-1588.
