LOUISVILLE, KY. (WDRB) – Against Illinois State, the top ranked Kentucky Wildcats eventually figured out how to get things done without sophomore point guard Tyler Ulis. But it wasn’t easy.
UK overcame a slow start and used a 14-1 second half run to beat the Redbirds 75-63 Monday night at Rupp Arena.
UK struggled in the first half without Ulis, who missed the game after injuring his elbow in Friday’s win over South Florida.
Isaiah Briscoe led the way for Kentucky with 18 points and 7 rebounds. He struggled early, committing 3 turnovers in the first 90 seconds. He finished the game with five.
The Cats committed nine first half turnovers and were tied with Illinois State at 31 at the half.
Jamal Murray also scored 16 for Kentucky who moved to 7 and 0 with the victory.
