UPDATE: Boil water advisory issued after water main break near Jeffersonville High School

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Police say they are responding to a water main break near Jeffersonville High School.

It happened on Allison Lane, between Seminole Drive and Meadowlark Road, in front of the school. City officials say the water main break happened at the Beechgrove Apartments.

According to the Greater Clark County Schools Facebook page, buses and student drivers will be rerouted leaving Jeffersonville High School. Parents should expect delays in students arriving home.

"This could potentially affect most schools south of 10th Street in Jeffersonville, plus some Wilson Elementary students," the Facebook page states.

Authorities say a full or partial closure in the area is expected to last until about 10 or 11 p.m. Tuesday.

A boil advisory is in effect from Tuesday Dec. 1 until Friday Dec. 4 for the Sellersburg Water Customers from Hwy 62 South to Utica Pike including the old Riverside water system. Residents should boil all drinking water during this advisory. For more information visit the Clark County Web site.
