LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Boyle County man has been arrested in connection to charges related to child sexual exploitation.

Shannon Miller, 52, faces one count of distribution and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor, according to a release from Kentucky State Police.

He was arrested Tuesday at his home in Danville, following a police search.

Officers arrested Miller as the result of an undercover investigation. Officials with KSP's Electronic Crime Branch began an investigation after they say Miller was seen sharing child sexual exploitation images online.

Police say the material included images and video of young children engaged in sexual acts. Equipment used in the alleged crime has been taken to KSP's forensic laboratory to be examined.

Authorities say each count could result in one to five years in prison.
