Valley View church recovers stolen trailer filled with clothes for the homeless

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A trailer full of clothes for the homeless has been recovered.

It was stolen from Valley View Church in southern Jefferson County last week. Someone cut through a gate and a lock to take it.

Pastor Matt Morris says he believes everything is still inside the trailer. It was full of donations like blankets and coats.

The church helps hundreds of people living on the streets through it's Helping Hands ministry. Every Monday night, hundreds of people living on the streets don't have to worry about where they're going to find dinner.

Helping Hands brings it to them.

The group, from Valley View Church, also collects things like coats and blankets for those living on the streets.

"A lot of people don't realize that they've got a warm bed to go to. These people ain't got no warm bed. They sleep either on the ground or on mats," said Helping Hands Director Dwight Reed.
