LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People against a proposed methane plant in west Louisville are expected to meet at Metro Hall today at 5:00 p.m.

The plant, called a "biodigester," would take organic waste like food products and turn it into energy.

An activist group called West Louisville First rallied last month, saying the mayor and Star Energy developers tried to back out on promises. The group wants $250,000 donated to the West Louisville Foundation, and a nearby property to go to Simmons College.

Today's rally comes in advance of a hearing about the plant scheduled for Monday.
