LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Police say a person driving a cargo truck hit a police car and then took off running Thursday evening.

It happened at the corner of Muhammad Ali Boulevard and Floyd Street in downtown Louisville. Police began detouring traffic onto Floyd from Ali after the wreck.

According to police, the truck hit the female officer's car when it turned in front of her. She was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Police say the suspect got out of the truck and took off on foot, but officers do not have a description of the person. Officers are searching the area on foot and from a police helicopter.

The truck had logos for Richards Electric Supply of Kentucky, LLC on the side.

There were no other injuries or people involved, police say.
