Suspect charged in connection with theft of trailer from Valley View Church

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man is charged with stealing two trailers, including one filled with clothes meant for the homeless. 

According to an arrest report, 31-year-old Tommy Sumser was arrested Dec. 3. Police say he admitted stealing two trailers in late November, including one from Valley View Church. 

The contents of both trailers were valued at more than $10,000 each. 

The trailer stolen from Valley View Church was full of clothes and blankets that had been collected for the homeless. The church helps of hundreds of people living on the streets through its Helping Hands ministry. 

Both trailers have been recovered. 

Police say they have video surveillance of Sumser's vehicle at the scene of the thefts. 

Sumser is charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking over $10,000. He is being held at Metro Corrections.
