Three more test positive for HIV in Scott County, Ind.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three more people test positive for HIV in southern Indiana.

The total number of cases is now 184.

The new cases were found after a two-week re-testing blitz last month. State workers contacted 476 high-risk individuals who hadn't had an HIV repeat test in 30 days. Of those people, 181 were tested and three were found positive.

Nearly all of the cases are in Scott County, where the outbreak has been largely driven by needle-sharing among people injecting the liquid painkiller Opana.
