LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- People who travel from the Louisville International Airport will be able to get rides from the transportation company Uber.

According to a release from the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, passengers can begin getting rides on Thursday.

"We are pleased to welcome Uber as our newest ground transportation business partner here at Louisville International," said Skip Miller, Executive Director of the Louisville Regional Airport Authority, in a release.

Officials say Uber will have two vehicle spaces on the lower level of the commercial curb for passenger pickup.

Uber will also have a limited staging area in the cell phone waiting lot.

Authorities say Uber will pay a $2 trip fee for each pick up from the airport, along with a monthly business privilege fee of $500. There is no trip fee paid to the airport for taking passengers to Louisville International.
