Shelter in place lifted for Conway Middle School following gas leak

Posted: Updated:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A MetroSafe dispatcher says a shelter in place has been lifted for Conway Middle School, following a gas leak.

A dispatcher says the shelter in place was lifted at 1:54 p.m.

Authorities say the leak happened in the 6400 block of Terry Road, near Mayna Drive and Childers Lane.

Officials say a call about the leak was received at 12:06 p.m.

LG&E spokesperson Liz Pratt says a third party dug into and severed a gas service line, which led to a property.

Pratt also said Conway Middle School imposed its own shelter in place because the break was so close to the school.
