LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Yogi Ferrell had a career night as IU won its second straight game Wednesday with a 90-65 win over Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne.
Ferrell scored the game's final eight points to finish with 38 points, 8 more than his previous high and just four shy of Steve Alford's all-time Assembly Hall mark. Ferrell made 12-of-18 shots, 4-of-8 threes and all 10 of his free throws.
"I mean, basically I was surprised myself some shots went in," said Ferrell. "Sometimes I couldn't even see the rim because they had a hand in my face. My mindset was to go out there and basically just attack the rim."
Robert Johnson added 16 points and Troy Williams offset five turnovers with 15 points and a career-best 19 rebounds. Max Bielfeldt added 11 points and 8 rebounds off the bench. The Hoosiers dominated the glass 51-28.
Indiana (7-3) hit 51.8% from the field including 9-of-22 from three and they held IPFW (7-4) to 34.8% shooting. Mo Evans led the Mastadons with 21.
The Hoosiers next host 1-6 McNeese State Saturday at 6:30 pm, then get a week off before meeting Notre Dame in Indianapolis on December 19th.
