POLICE: Two men arrested for trafficking drugs near two St. Matthews schools

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- St. Matthews Police say they have arrested to men for drug trafficking near two area schools.

According to arrest reports, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Churchill Road, near Browns Lane, Thursday afternoon. Inside, they allegedly found over seven grams of crystal methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, numerous small plastic bags, scales and needles.

Police arrested 31-year-old Jonathan Howard and 42-year-old Michael L. Smith. Both men are listed as residents of the home. They are both charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to arrest reports.

The home was within 1,000 feet of St. Matthews Elementary School and Waggener High School, police say.
