Louisville man arrested after allegedly whipping 11-year-old about 30 times with belt, hand
According to an arrest report, the victim was taken to Our Lady of Peace, where authorities discovered "severe bruising on her buttocks."
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Louisville man has been arrested after Louisville Metro Police say he criminally abused an 11-year-old girl.
According to an arrest warrant, it happened between Sept. 5 and Sept. 7. Police say that according to the victim, 49-year-old Donald Carey hit the 11-year-old on the buttocks roughly 30 times with both a belt and his hand.
The victim told her mother, according to the arrest report, and she was taken to Our Lady of Peace, where authorities discovered "severe bruising on her buttocks."
A warrant was issued for Carey's arrest on Saturday, Dec. 12, and the was taken into custody in the early morning hours of Sunday, Dec. 13.
He is charged with second degree criminal abuse.
Carey is the boyfriend of the victim's mother, according to the arrest report.
