LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Three people died in a crash on Louisville Road in Nelson County this morning.

The Nelson County Sheriff's Department says just after 7 a.m. Sunday, officials responded to a head-on collision with an ejection and two people trapped in a car.

Once on the scene, deputies found three people involved had died.

The victims are Keaton Hall, 24, Jordan Hickman, 24, and Tyler Foster, 25.

Hickman was the driver, and Kentucky State Police say that for unknown reasons, the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu he was driving crossed the center line.

The car collided with a 1996 Dodge pickup driven by Brian Waldridge, 20, of Bardstown. Waldridge was airlifted to University Hospital in serious condition.

Hall, Hickman and Foster were the only occupants of the Malibu. Friends describe the men as a "band of brothers" who were inseparable since middle school.

"Our group was always either playing some kind of sport or would go out and have a little bit of fun every once in a while," said Payton Young, a longtime friend of the men. "The only way we're gonna get past it is to remember the good times we had with each other. Just know that they're in a better place now and  they're watching over us."

The crash happened on Louisville Road between KY 509 and Wolfe Bridge.
