Sellersburg teen arrested after fatal hit-and-run in downtown Jeffersonville; victim identified

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Jeffersonville Police have arrested an 18-year-old man after he allegedly left the scene of a fatal hit-and-run.

Sgt. Isaac Parker says Brandon Bailey, 18, was arrested early Sunday morning at his home in Sellersburg.

The crash happened Saturday night around 10 p.m. in the 1900 block of Spring Street in Jeffersonville.

The victim, now identified as 64-year-old Junior L. Montgomery, was hit while crossing the street, but the car involved left the scene.

Montgomery was taken to University Hospital by police escort. He was pronounced dead around 10:30 p.m.

Bailey is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center, charged with leaving the scene of an accident causing death.
